I am interested in the development of MR imaging methods to better characterize cerebral hemodynamics in cerebrovascular and neurodegenerative diseases.
Sickle cell anemia (SCA) is a genetic disorder with a high prevalence of cerebrovascular disease. My current project involves the use of MRI to characterize metabolism and perfusion for the purpose of developing imaging strategies for stroke risk stratification in patients affected by SCA.
