I am interested in developing minimally invasive imaging methods to track amyloid plaque development in Alzheimer's disease mouse models.

My research project is to target superparamagnetic iron oxide (SPIO) nanoparticles to Abeta plaques so that plaque formation can be noninvasively measured with high resolution MRI. To accomplish this, we will identify methods of altering the permeability of the blood brain barrier to allow SPIO nanoparticle delivery.
